Make your revision count

How to revise for
GCSE English mocks

Start with what your school is assessing. Practise putting your knowledge into answers. Then use feedback to decide what to improve next.

Check what's in your mocks

Ask your teacher which papers, Literature texts and poetry you'll be assessed on. Schools set their own mock content and dates, so build your revision around yours.

Practise actual answers

Language: practise answering questions on unfamiliar extracts and planning your writing.

Literature: practise using quotations to explain ideas about characters, themes and the writer's choices. Include timed practice so you learn how to use your exam time.

Review it. Improve one thing.

Use teacher feedback or the relevant mark scheme to find one part of your answer that needs work. Try that part again, then check whether you've made the change.

Not sure which part needs your attention first?
